Miss me?

I haven’tlogged in for almost 2 months, neither did I blog for the same amount of time. Did anyone missed me?

Life had been like rather fast paced for me for the past 2 weeks at least. I haven’t been sleeping or eating very well.

There was this Standard Chartered Marathon volunteering. Pictures with Joanna. She hasn’t upload them. So, no pictures at the moment. Then there was this etiquette class which I was part of the organising committee (part of YEN). Then, there were also assignment and test due.

And my phone almost DIED on me. But no, it just went into cardiac arrest. Though it had moved into the normal ward, it is still put under observation.

It’s amusing. But don’t BELIEVE anything that comes out from her mouth. Because it has no ecological validity.

You better get it confirmed via VALID sources.

Meanwhile, do enjoy it people!

Psst. Now I know, its perfectly alright to have a visible tummy. Cos ex Miss Singapore Universe has it as well.

Gender Equality or Inequality

Nicholas: When you all buy the flat here, do you all come to view the place?
Jacqueline: uh huh. but we see it from the outside, not this part because it wasn’t open yet.
Nicholas: EHHH. GOT DOG DOG…
Jacqueline: dots.
Nicholas: EEEKS. okay, I dont like the dogs.
Jacqueline: Because the flats are build-to-order.
Nicholas: HUH? the dogs?!
Jacqueline: *Faints* the FLATS LA~!
Nicholas: Aiya, why you suddenly change topic?!
Jacqueline: since when i change topic ?!?!
Nicholas: So, what is build to order?
Jacqueline: *takes a deep breath and pause* only when there’s enough demand for flats and people paid their deposits, HDB will then start work…
Nicholas: OOOOORHHHH…

Update:  This is directly from HDB InfoWeb

What is Build-To-Order (BTO)

The Build-To-Order (BTO) is a responsive system offering flexibility in location and timing for flat buyers. Eligible buyers planning to shift into a new HDB apartment in the near future can apply for apartments in their preferred location from specific sites launched.

Contracts launched under BTO offer either 2-room, 3-room, 4-room or 5-room apartments, or a combination of the flat types, with standard or premium finishes. Tender for construction will be called only when most of the apartments in a specific contract have been booked.

At least, I don’t PRETEND to be dumb.

It was mentioned during our PSOC class that in the 1950s, college girls pretend to be dumb when they are with their boyfriends. And this suggest gender inequality.

But then in today context, i think it’s still the same. Guys don’t dare to go after girls who had higher education than them. A degree guy wouldn’t mind a O Levels girl. But would a degree girl mind a O Levels guy? True, nowadays girls may have higher intelligence than some guys, but will that turns potential mates off? You can’t be sure.

Why do we still need the SDU (Social Development Unit) to encourage people to date,  get married and make babies? Is it because we are promoting too much of gender equality – if guys can be the CEO, so can we. Are we too intimidating or too clever for you? Are we of higher competence at work, and that you feel threatened? Like she’s a business director in a MNC, and you are a mere business manager in a small company?

Even if the SDU stepped in to encourage couples to get married and have babies, why are the divorce rates even higher than before?

Why is it that the elders wants the girl has to stay at home to look after the kids and take care of the house? Why can’t the guy do it as well? Why does it irks them when a guy admits that he’s a house-husband?

Why is it that for guys to socialise at pubs is socially accepted, and married girls to socialize at pubs  is not?

So, moral of the story: gender inequality has been there and will always be there.
Yet on the side note, I think I’m mixing personal issues with schoolwork. right?

McDonald’s Monopoly Game

Was at ECP with Nic for a very late lunch. He decided to head to Mac for lunch before heading further down to rent the bikes. And so, I was craving for Mac’s garlic chilli for a very long time, I ordered Mac Nuggets meal and took pumps and pumps of the garlic chilli.

And then we were given this sticker thing, which I thought I have to collect in order to enjoy rebates of some sorts. (You know, like those aunties who collect the stamps at Shop N Save in order to have like 5% rebate of your bill) But it’s not. It supposed to be like those cards you collect when you purchase a set of property when you play Monopoly.

Instead of buying property within the same colour, this time you have to collect the stickers of the same colour in order to have A CHANCE of winning the price in that section.
